What has changed more than anything as a result of yesterday’s UK General Election is the voters’ view of those in authority. Whatever constitutional conventions, Parliamentary arithmetic and party ambitions say, deference by the electorate is dead. The old order changeth. That is what the politicians of all parties must remember above all else as they consider this election result.
