We think a leader ultimately has to lead with the heart, lead by example and lead with passion. Many people can have the strategy. They can explain things. A lot of people have the analytical skills, but fundamentally we think great leadership means that the people who you’re leading ‘feel you’, and sometimes you don’t even need to say a lot of words. And the way they feel you is they know that you care, that you believe in what you say. You have the passion and you live by it.

Graham and Positive Leadership were involved in the development of our annual Learning for Business Conference from the outset, helping to ensure that it met its professional training and development objectives. The conference was based around case studies and role plays, which asked the speakers to be insightful and flexible in terms of how they presented and interacted with the delegates, and Graham was both. The WS Society's Learning for Business Conference is aimed at young professionals looking to develop their business awareness and personal skills, and he was excellent at understanding the issues facing them in the current climate. During his session he provided guidance on how to develop these new skills and got the delegates to think about how they could take control of their professional development and begin making a difference to their organisations. Many of the more experienced practitioners and HR Managers who attended the event, commented that they would be taking on board some of his suggestions with regard to their own development.
